A new device enables drivers to check their e-mails without taking their eyes off the road. The iLane Bluetooth device connects with wireless devices to read aloud incoming messages and manages your inbox through voice activated commands.
The device from Intelligent Mechatronic Systems alerts drivers about incoming e-mail through an audio queue, and can be configured to filter incoming e-mails and provides a summary of the messages. This means the e-mail is being scanned either manually or automatically, which may be a turnoff to some potential customers. The iLane, which has been tested with the Blackberry and Treo, also manages phone calls, SMS messages and e-mail attachments.
