Distance learning, without the distance. Podcasting collegiate courses.

The gadgetry makes it trivial for students to watch or listen to lectures when they’re biking at the gym or pulling an all-nighter in the campus library. Proponents of this approach argue that it allows students to better schedule their lives and teaches them discipline. They also raise the obvious question—if students can do well in the course and absorb the same material without sitting in some particular chair in some particular room at some particular time, then why would faculty try to stop them?
